Login & Home

Through this session, it is possible to register and log in users, after this step, it is possible to view the user's hours balance, the last services provided and contracted. Additionally, you can view service providers near you.

Search & Profile

Through the search screen it is possible to filter by categories and also see which are the closest users and reviews. After selecting the user, you are then redirected to the user profile screen, where you can find information about the user, opening hours, etc.

Scheduling & Confirmation

On the scheduling screen, it is possible to observe the user's availability, such as dates, periods, time and type of service.

With this, the user is redirected to a success screen, giving the service provider 12 hours to confirm the appointment or cancel it.

Messages & Chat

Through the messages screen, you can chat with the users you are providing services to and also those you have requested. Furthermore, the chat allows you to pay for services performed and received.

The application design was shaped to reflect the simplicity and accessibility desired by users, promoting an intuitive experience. Features have been implemented to facilitate the exchange of time as a unit of value, ensuring an effective platform for exchanging products and services within the community.

Solution

Context

The time bank concept was created to serve needy communities, where the traditional economy does not serve local interests.

A time bank aims to reduce the members dependence on the conventional monetary system and traditional social services, through the creation of a social network in which members can exchange services. In this system model, all work has equal value and services are valued only in terms of the time spent to perform them.

What were the objectives of this project

Objective 1

The objective of this study is to develop an innovative application that is based on the concept of "time" as a unit of exchange for products and services. The idea is to create a Time Bank that covers the entire country, eliminating any geographic barriers.

Objective 2

Furthermore, we sought to improve the operational management of service hours offered and create a friendly and easy-to-use interface for users, making the experience more accessible and effective.

How do users currently use the time bank?

It is essential to understand how the user feels and be able to put yourself in their position, viewing the world through their perspective and discovering the emotions and motivations that drive their behaviors. For this, the methodology used was design thinking. This methodology promotes creativity and the search for innovative solutions through observation, collaboration and rapid prototyping.

What problems were identified?

Geographic Limitation

The lack of integration between time banks makes it difficult to expand these initiatives to other regions of Brazil, limiting people's access.

Lack of Standardization

The absence of a centralized platform makes it difficult to standardize processes and rules between different time banks, which can lead to inconsistencies and confusion.

Operational Inefficiency

Manual management of time banks is laborious and prone to errors, which compromises efficiency in the exchange of services and the administration of community currencies.

Communication Challenges

Relying on Facebook groups for communication between members can be challenging, especially for people who don't use this social network.

Exploratory research

Through the exploratory research carried out, it was possible to obtain a comprehensive view of the services most commonly used by time bank users, in addition to understanding the main motivations that drive their adoption of these services.

Exchange services

Meet new people

Sustainable Community

New skills

Financial savings

Philanthropy

52%

of users who responded use the service monthly.

48%

of the users who responded have completed higher education.

33%

of users who responded work formally.

Personas

The personas were created to help understand users, what their goals and frustrations are and how they use the product in their daily lives. Personas must be believable people, with their own stories, experiences and values.

User Journey

Main tools

Through user research, it was possible to identify the main tools they look for in a time bank application. Based on these insights, it was possible to direct efforts to create a platform that meets users' needs and expectations.
